The following information is how to modify a Mk I Austin grille to be used on Mk I, Mk II, and Mk III Turners.

The Mk I Austin radiator grille used was purchased from D.S.N. Classics, their part no Ext 3017 at a cost of £47.08 + V.A.T. (£8.24) - Total cost £55.32.

First drill out all pop rivetts from the top two rails -The rails are stamped with numbers on the back (nos 1 &2) these are not needed, and can be removed.

Next with a fine bladed (32 tooth) junior hacksaw cut through the black backing plates on either side just above the fourth rail from the bottom (Stamped No 6).

What is now the top rail (stamped No 3) is cut off each side at the narrow point aprox. 295mm from the centre.  This rail is not really seen (unless at a low or distant position) as it goes under the bonnet.

The next two rails (stamped 4 & 5) are each cut off at a distance of 330mm at the wide point of the rail.  These four ends will then need a bit of 'fine tuning' with hacksaw and file go give a good fit.

A pad of rubber sheet behind each plate at the sides, and attachment with self tapping screws should complete the job!
