Tim Davies owned this Maroon 1340cc Turner Ford in the early 1960's.  Tim bought the car from Emscote Motors Warwich Second hand in 1964 and sold the car in November 1965 to the 'Chequered Flag' garage at Edgeware Road London.

When Tim bought the car it had a tuned 1340 Cosworth Ford engine with twin 40 webber D.C.O.E. carbs.  Tim recalls the car went really well for some time, but a big end bolt let go and wrecked the engine so he transfered all the parts into a 5 bearing 1500 Ford unit which still went well, but was then under geared.

Tim was a Jaguar apprentice and recalled he and two collegues travelled all the way to Le Mans for the 24 hour race in June 1965 returning via Paris back to Coventry in the Turner without any problems.

In 1965 one of Tims freinds borrowed the car , but unfortunately he lost the rear and had a minor accident damaging the axel and shifting the rear suspension over out of place.  The car was returned to Pendeford where Jack Tunrer and his team repaired the car and repainted it Tartan Red colour.

The chassis Identification and current wherabouts of this Turner is unknow at this time [Jan 2005].  Tim is very keen to trace any information on the car or hear from anybody who may recall his Turner 989 HWP or know of it's whereabouts today.

Reg. No. 989 HWP
