Andrew purchased this Turner, originally black, in 1972 for 250 pounds from a Brian Smart. The car was registered in Rutland 1st August 1960 with Reg. No. FP9954. It was exported from UK in 1976, shortly after Andrew emigrated to NZ as he rolled it just before leaving!. The car was run until 1980 when he took it off the road as it was getting a bit "soft" at all its joints. Andrew has rebuilt it slowly (!) and re-registered it on its 40th birthday.
The car is powered by a FWA Coventry Climax stage 2 tune (30 60 60 30 cam) with the original twin SU set-up. It has a Midget gearbox with competition close ratio cross cut cogs. Diffferential is now 3.22 to 1 and originally was 3.55 to 1. No roof, only to be used in the sun!!!
