On
my Mk 1 with the lever arm shocks there is no castor adjustment
possible unless the shocks are re-sited. The standard castor is OK as
long as it's even on both sides. The camber is important. Between 1 and
2 deg negative camber is perfect not more than 2 deg. On my car the
original set up was neutral on one side and half positive on the other
side. When corrected the handling was revolutionised.
I don't know about Mk 3s
