: I have MKIII 64/599, purchased it disassembled and am now
reassembling it. I have the transmission, with the mounting bracket
attached, sitting upon the crossmember. Is there a bolt that holds the
transmission to the crossmember?
: Any help is greatly appreciated.
The
transmission mount for the Cortina gearbox in the Mk III has a threaded
stud that protrudes down, through a hole in the crossmember. It is
secured with a nut. There is a flange on the transmission tailshaft
housing with (2) threaded holes. The transmission mount bolts to the
housing using these (2) holes. The transmission mount is from a 105E
Anglia. It is a different configuration from the Cortina mount used on
later Lotus Elans.
