: The engine mounts on my Ford engined MkIII do not seem to be Ford Cortina GT engine mounts. Does anyone know where they come from? Also any suggestions as to how I can tell if the engine mounts need replacing?
:Turners
with Cortina engines use the same engine mounts as applied to the Lotus
Elan, specifically, the LH Elan mount. This mount was originally a late
Ford Anglia part. Do not use the RH Lotus Elan mount. The RH mount will
raise the height of the engine. This configuration was needed on the
Elan for clearance between the bottom of the carbs and the top of the
footwell. The RH Elan mount can be used on LHD Turners with twin side
draft carbs to gain clearance above the steering column.
