I own a rare? aluminium cylinder head for a small block (948cc) A
series engine. It is a crossflow type with 4 inlets on the front and 3
exhaust ports on the rear. It was designed by Alexander Engineering and
is numbered 15. I got in touch with the original chairman of Alexander
Engineering in Aylesbury who told me that it was designed for the
Austin A35 engine to go in the back of a special sports car to be
called the Alexander Turner. Anyone know anything about this car or
this cylinder head. I used to run it on a methamnol burning 998 Mini
but as it is the only one I know of in existance I do not use it any
more but I am desperate to find out more about it. One of the designers
Tim Fry told me more about it as the chairman can not remeber too much
any more. he said 100 were cast and as far as he knows I may have the
only one left. It originally ran Webers according to Alexander Eng. but
Tim Fry reckoned it ran a special pair of carbs formed from Amal bits.
I currently have it with 4 brass Amal carbs.
Any info would be much appreciated.
